Gala Dinner Committee
2012 Co-chairs: Curtis Jung, Janice Tanaka


• Solicit corporate sponsorship and prize donations
• Select venue and coordinate event operations
• Select annual honorees
• Schedule and coordinate entertainment
• Coordinate dinner programming and silent auction
• Recruit and coordinate volunteers
• Raise money for the APAA Scholarship Endowment and APAA programming

 

Golf Classic Committee
2011 Chair: Jaime Lee


• Solicit corporate sponsorship and prize donations
• Select venue and coordinate event operations
• Determine golf rules and on-course contests
• Coordinate awards dinner programming and silent auction
• Recruit and coordinate volunteers
• Raise money for the APAA Scholarship Endowment and APAA programming

Networking Events
2011- 2012 Chair: Melody Nishida

Plan and coordinate networking events throughout the year including:


• Homecoming
• Student/alumni mixers
• Career development events
• Sporting events
• Holiday party
• USC/UCLA alumni mixers
• Theater night events
• Asian cultural events
• Student outreach events
• Asian Pacific Graduate Celebration


Scholarship Committee:
2011-2012 Chair: Wendy Wang


• Review all scholarship applications
• Conduct personal interviews with candidates
• Recommend final awards
• Maintain communication with scholars during school year
• Maintain relationship with endowment donors

Advancement Committee
2010 Chair: Wesley Mizutani


• Develop fundraising initiatives that support the APAA Scholarship Endowment and APAA programming
• Maintain relationships with donors
• Develop USC Campus Center fundraising project

Orange County Committee
2011-2012 Chair: Wesley Mizutani


• Develop events and programs specifically targeted to Asian Pacific Alumni in Orange County
• 4-5 events are planned during the course of a year
• Committee meets bi-monthly at the USC Orange County Center in Irvine

APAA Young Alumni Council
Chair: Jeff Okita


• Develop events and programs for alumni within 10 years of graduation
• Events include: Social mixers, Homecoming tailgate, professional development, holiday party, food focused events and post-graduation new alumni welcome
• The APAA Young Alumni Council meets once a month at the APAA office on USC’s Main Campus
