USC Black Alumni Association Advisory Council (BAC)

Founded by civil rights activist Rev. Dr. Thomas Kilgore, Jr. in 1976, the USC Black Alumni Association is a unique alumni support organization with a primary mission to provide scholarship assistance to USC African American students.

Mission
The USC Black Alumni Association Advisory Council (BAC) was established in 2010 to provide leadership for the USC Black Alumni Association (BAA), which since its inception was governed by the BAA Board of Directors. The BAC gives strategic guidance concerning the BAA's mission, alumni engagement, student matriculation support, scholarship growth and donor cultivation.

The BAC seeks to sustain the BAA as a standard bearer for academic excellence and achievement for its alumni and students, through partnerships with the academic community, alumni networks, corporate and civic relationships.

Core Values and Principals

We are compassionate and fair, serving an underserved and underrepresented population. We identify and support the capabilities of black USC alumni and students, and reflect their concerns, perspectives and experiences.

Partnership
We work in collaboration with the academic, alumni, corporate and civic communities to identify, engage and provide development opportunities that foster the mission of the BAA.

Accountability
We are accountable to our partners, encouraging the growth and sustainability of the organization.

Stewardship
We are judicial stewards of all resources entrusted to advance the mission of the BAA.

Service
We are committed to provide leadership in order to fulfill the goals and objectives of the BAA.
