"The battle for freedom and full acceptance in all segments of American life must begin anew every morning. All kinds of viable tools must be used to close the gap between the haves and the have-nots in our society. One of the most formidable of these tools is a good education at USC. The Black Alumni Association has launched out on an unending mission to support worthy African American students. All who believe in this thrilling venture are asked to come and go with us!"

27th ANNUAL TROJAN LEGENDS HOMECOMING CELEBRATION

THANK YOU to everyone who came out to the 27th Annual Trojan Legends Homecoming Weekend Celebration! Thanks to all the alums and guests who made it out Friday night to the J Lounge to mix, mingle and enjoy the rhythmic sounds of alum Ryan Cross. Rain did not prevail on Saturday and we had a great turnout of alums, families and guests. Honorary Chairs Dana Heyward and Paula McGee did an incredible job. We had a wonderful all you can eat breakfast, great music and the Greeks and student group performances took us right into kickoff! We truly appreciate everyone who came out and supported the event with a special thank you to our sponsors.

For those of you who missed this year and those who were with us, check out the You Tube footage below and we look forward to seeing you next year. Fight On!

LEGACY THROUGH LEADERSHIP MENTORING PROGRAM

As you’re aware, one of our premier programs is our BAA scholar program and another is our Legacy through Leadership Mentoring program. We are continuing our process of securing mentors for our BAA scholars and are seeking your support. We have a dynamic group of BAA scholars this year that we are seeking to match with alumni and professional mentors in the areas of Business, Law, Gov’t, Technology, Communications, Entertainment, Non-Profit/Social Work, Medical, Education and Real Estate.

If you can make the time and commitment to mentor one of our BAA scholars, we would love your participation. Of course you may be wondering what specifically is required of you. Please review the attached program overview for further details. We have also attached a link to the fillable application form for your convenience. The application literally takes less than 10 minutes to fill out.

Please Apply Here for 2011-2012 Legacy through Mentoring - Mentor Application

If for some reason you are unable to make the time commitment but know of an alum and or professional interested and committed to mentoring, please have them fill out the application via the link above.

Please note that all applications must be received in our office by no later than Wednesday, November 2nd at 12noon. If you submit an application by the 2nd you will be notified by November 9th the latest as to who your new mentee will be.

Best Regards and Fight On!
