Placer Food Bank (PFB), the leading hunger-relief charity in Placer, El Dorado and Nevada counties, serves as the primary food collector and distribution center in the area, distributing food to the hungry through a network of over 60 local organizations.
Volunteers will perform various food bank activities including sorting and inspecting.

Project Open Hand is a nonprofit organization that provides meals with love to seniors and the critically ill. Our project will begin with an educational orientation and a complimentary lunch, after which we will work in the Grocery Center. Tasks may include sorting, bagging, culling food items, stocking shelves, shopping for clients or assisting in the kitchen.

SAN FRANCISCO – SAN FRANCISCO ZOO

For our 3rd annual SF Zoo volunteer project, we'll help restore and beautify the park and exhibits with physical, but fun, tasks such as moving sand and stones and other duties that will require some lifting and bending. Afterwards, volunteers are welcome to enjoy the zoo.

All volunteers must bring completed and signed forms; minimum volunteer age is 14, and those under 18 must bring both the Youth Permission Form and Volunteer Agreement (parent or guardian 21 or older must accompany any minor ages 14-15). No shorts, tank tops, purses or backpacks permitted (please leave all valuables in the trunk of your car); closed-toe shoes required. Please consider bringing donations of non-perishable food items, especially high-protein foods such as tuna and peanut butter or meals in a can like stews and soups – one can or case makes a difference.
